An incredible night was had last Friday 16th October when we celebrated all the nominees, and all the winners were announced.
Greenwood Academy main hall was once again transformed by the team there for our special occasion and 200 people gathered for the occasion. Our host for the evening was arguably one of the most famous people to have been part of one of our events – Nikky Smedley, most known for her tv role Laa Laa in the Teletubbies.
Entertainment was provided by Wings and Generations Choir who gave us a sneak peak of Where My Heart Is, (being staged later this week) as well as a closing performance from Just James, followed by the party.
We had a couple of surprises on the evening. Opening the awards with the special Councillors Award given to John Mole for all his support in saving Castle Pool and Tyburn Library. The closing award a special Longstanding Achievement Award for Pat & Tony Romano. Between we learnt of the winners for the voted categories.
A big thank you to our sponsors: Castle Vale Community Housing and Compass Support (part of The Pioneer Group); Endowment Trust Fund; Neighbourhood Partnership Board; Tenants Residents Alliance; The Youth Council and the Tyburn Ward Councillors.
Also a big thank you to those who donated prizes for the raffle: Sainsbury’s Castle Vale Store; Star Taxi; Birmingham Rep Theatre; Up Cycle; Lloyds Chemist; CV Post Office; Eclipse; Gemini; K&K and local residents. Plus thank you to Sainsbury’s Castle Vale Store and Flowerworx for the flowers on the night.
More photos from the evening come soon. If you took photos on the night please continue to upload to our flicker or Facebook page to share with everyone.
