Castle Vale Festival 20th & 21st September

Castle Vale Festival Poster

We’ve been quiet on our own website and blog as we have been working hard on the Castle Vale Festival through it’s own site www.celebratingcastlevale.wordpress.com

So there is lots going on and those of you who are following both or our facebook page will have seen all the activity so far.

We will make sure to post through onto here updates as they can on the other site but you could follow that one as well for the latest information about activities we are running or supporting for the Year of Celebration starting with the Castle Vale Festival on the 20th and 21st September 2013.

But for those of you who have not heard yet here’s a quick tour of what’s coming up.

Sheila Arthurs has her new knitting and crocheting project with Knits and Pieces that all are welcome to come to including those who’ve never had a go.  The group has a mixture of ages and experiences and are currently making some aliens (or Valiens) ready for the festival.  See the what’s on page here to see when the next group session is.

We’ve started to recruit individuals and groups to participate and perform in the festival at the Opening Ceremony on the Friday evening and in the singing project for the Saturday evening.  There’s also information and market stalls that can be booked for the Saturday afternoon event.  Got something you want to promote or a group to recruit to or maybe something to sell?  We are also recruiting volunteers who we’ve named the Vale Makers!  For all details of these different ways to Get Involved check out the website.

There are lots of events planned with the 2 days of the Castle Vale Festival so get thinking about what you want to be a part of.  Here’s the draft programme and more details, including some exciting details for the ticketed events will be announced shortly.
