As detailed on the home page the now annual Community Awards Evening is coming up.
Voting is open until Monday 14th November 12 noon. The voting forms can be found at CVCHA, The Sanctuary, Spitfire House and The Astral. Plus you can download them or vote online at www.cveventscommittee.wordpress.com

MYEE exhibition at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery
Opens 17th November 2011 to mid April 2012
The MYEE exhibition has been developed for a special exhibition in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
Launching with a private viewing to invited guests on the 17th November it will stay open in the community section of the Museum for five months enabling people from across the city and visitors who travel from all over the world to see what we have to say about Castle Vale.

National competition – local exhibition
EAC Over 60s Art Awards 2010-11
deadline: 4 March 2011
EAC‘s annual Over 60s Art Awards competition is now open. For the first time in its 17-year history, the exhibition will be held out of London, at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists’ RBSA Gallery in Birmingham, from 10 to 21 May 2011.
The Awards website www.eacartawards.org.uk has been updated and contains all the information you need to enter the competition as well as an extensive gallery of recent finalists’ work. A large number of people entered online last year and this facility is available again this year.

Tell us about “me, you & everything else” through your photographs – it’s the story of you!
Come along to take part in photography workshops during half term, 25th to 28th October daily at the Sanctuary, starting on
Monday 25 October from 11am.

- Printed in a special December issue of Vale Mail
- Appear in a touring exhibition in Castle Vale and beyond
To join this project you must be between 13 and 19 years old. There is no cost involved; you will need your parents/guardians’ permission if you are under 16 years of age.
Photography – opportunity for older people (aged 55+) residents of Castle Vale
Bring along your past photos, take new photos, learn to print and publish photos on computers – be part of the photo project with young people to make a shared printed publication and exhibition.
To join in come along to sessions from 10am to 12 noon at Phoenix Court on: Tuesday 5 October; Thursday 14 October; Tuesday 19 October; Thursday 28 October.

Birmingham Opera Co & Youngstars

For young adults aged 16+
With Youngstars, meeting at the Astral Centre, 6.30pm-9pm, 29 September to 21 November 2010 (weekly but with additional sessions/rehearsals nearer production)
Creating original, contemporary dance with choreographers from Birmingham Opera Company to take part in their professional production of dance workshops at the Astral Centre to create several dance performances within their next production, The Wedding, in a city centre venue.
No previous dance experience required, just enthusiasm and commitment.
