Charitable status confirmed

We can – at last – confirm that we are now a registered charity (no. 1130759), under the name Active Arts Castle Vale. It’s been a long process to get there, having to change our name and ensure the suitability of our ‘objects’, i.e. the purpose of our organisation, but we got there in the [...]

Sunshine, strategy and support

After a busy last month, I’m finally getting round to updating the blog. Thanks to those who have been waiting patiently for our next post; I’m happy to say that we’re now starting to get a steady stream of hits per day, which shows the level of interest in arts activity in North-East Birmingham.

Always one for developing international partnerships,  Active Arts was delighted to play host to a group of residents and community workers from Pendrecht, Rotterdam on Saturday 12th April.
The group, aged 13-82, came to Birmingham to perform their original piece of theatre, ‘The Pendrecht Dialogues’. The play, which was performed at Castle Vale’s Spitfire House and later The Custard [...]

The art is in the making

The event, designed to launch the new Active Arts group and offer locals a chance to take part in a range of free performances and workshops, drew hundreds of participants from all over Castle Vale and Birmingham, and indeed as far as Warwickshire!
Despite the weather, The [...]
